FAQS
Q. Can you arrange delivery?
A. We sure can. We have a range of subcontractors available to deliver anything from 0.5 to 17m3 in one load. Depending on the workload we can usually arrange for a same day delivery, but to avoid problems it generally pays to book in the day before you require it. Delivery charge is dependent on the size of the truck required and how far you are from our location. Please phone our office for a quote. Q. What about steel reinforcing in my concrete? A. Steel is no problem. Magnetic separators remove the steel, which is then sent for recycling. Q. What sort of soil do you accept? A. Pretty much any type is ok. A small amount of grass content is ok, but it does need to be kept as clean as possible. We can’t do anything with clay or mud, so keep that out. Q. Do you accept soil tipping all year round? A. Yes. We are a licenced transfer station however we are unable to accept or deal with contaminated materials ie asbestos. Q. How come your prices are so competitive? A. As we charge tip fees for customers to dump their waste concrete and soil, it enables us to keep the prices of outgoing products down. Being a recycling facility, it also ensures a steady flow of product coming in and going out. Q. Do you generate any waste that has to be dumped at a landfill? A. Approx once every two months we send a 2m3 skip of rubbish to a licensed refuse station. Hopefully it is recycled for plastics etc. Other than that, everything we accept is reprocessed into saleable product. We estimate that we recycle in excess of 99% of tipped product. Q. My resource consent says specify where I am tipping my waste concrete or soil. Can I specify Western Aggregates & Soil Ltd? A. Yes. We are a licensed transfer station. Q. Do you accept green waste? A. Yes. Please check the Tipping page for acceptable load types. Q. Do you accept brick? A. Yes. We don't crush brick, it will need to be separated from your concrete. Otherwise you'll be charged as spoil (hard-fill) |
